Thanks both to our geographic proximity to the Russian Patent and Trademark Office and to our modern Internet facilities, we have direct access to the official trademark search systems used by PTO examiners.

Before filing a trademark application, our firm offers extensive search facilities in order to check if a planned trademark or service mark is in fact available for use. On the basis of computerized searches we provide Clients with a detailed legal opinion. If so instructed by a Client, we can contact third parties who possess prior rights so as to obtain coexistence agreements and thus negotiate freedom to use the mark in the market of the Russian Federation.

Preliminary trademark searches can also be conducted through our in-house computer system to screen potential words or phrases as possibilities for full searches. We can usually complete these searches the day after instructions have been received and at a cost lower than that of a full search.
