Vladimir M. Rybakov
Brief biography
Vladimir M. Rybakov, a partner in St. Petersburg office of ARS-Patent,served from 1994 to 2002 as the firm's Director. Chair of the Patent Group, he concentrates his practice on counseling and representing clients in domestic and international patent procurement, licensing and enforcement matters, primarily in mechanical technologies, with extensive experience in dealing with automotive products and machine tools.
Mr. Rybakov received his M.Sc in mechanical engineering from St. Petersburg State Baltic Technical University in 1974 and began his career as an engineer for "Kirov Plant" participating in patent analyses of a number of military components. In 1982 he was appointed as the Head of Patent Department responsible for the development of IP portfolio of this strategic enterprise of the former Soviet Union.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Rybakov managed intellectual property departments of some state scientific-research institutes where, while obtaining his degree of patent agent, with distinction, at Intellectual Property and Innovations Institute in 1986, he gained ten years of experience in the design, construction, electromechanical and electrical industry in such diverse fields as aviation, laser technology, control systems and power generation.
Mr. Rybakov is registered to practice before Russian and Eurasian Patent Offices. His technical, management and intellectual property background merge to provide excellent advice tailored to augment corporate strategies.
In addition, Mr. Rybakov is active in and contributes a lot to numerous charitable and civic organizations in St. Petersburg area.
