Andrej L. Timkovski
Brief biography
Andrej L. Timkovski graduated from Leningrad Polytechnical Institute (M.Sc., nuclear physics, 1967), Moscow Institute of Genetics and Selection of Industrial Microorganisms (Ph.D., biology, 1977), and Saint Petersburg State Technical University (D.Sc., professor in physics and mathematics, 1996).
Dr. Timkovski has been engaged in research in molecular biology, virology and biophysics for more than forty years. From his earliest work as a Junior Researcher in the Institute of Macromolecular Compounds, through his years as a Senior Researcher at Ioffe Physico-Technical Institute (under the aegis of the Russian Academy of Sciences) and a year long engagement at Saint-Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute, Dr. Timkovski has pursued the research of nucleic acids structure, double-standard RNAs (natural and biosynthetic) and antiviral substances.
At ARS-Patent his work involves assisting with the research and analysis of biochemistry, molecular genetics, immunology and chemical matters, drafting documents for the preparation, filing and prosecution of Russian and foreign patent applications and providing patentability and infringement opinions. Dr. Timkovski counsels clients in the legal issues associated with biotechnology asset valuation and management, licensing and technology transfer.
Dr. Timkovski has developed a national reputation in biotechnology with a number of publications to his credit in both scientific and legal journals. He has written technical papers and spoken at symposiums on a variety of topics relating to viral immunology and genetic modification. |
