Filing Requirements for Trademark Applications in Russia

Below please find some useful information relating to registration of trademarks in the Russian Federation.
1. Requirements for obtaining trademark protection
To file a trademark application we need the following documents and information:
- Information identifying the Applicant's name and address;
- A Power of Attorney signed by the Applicant;
- 10 copies of a trademark design 8 x 8 or 8 x 10 cm (only for a design mark);
- A list of goods and/or services to be filed.
2. Time-frame for registration
A decision on registration is usually issued within 10-12 months from the filing date and
a registration certificate is granted within 2 months following the date of payment of a registration fee.
